The Xavier Student
Investment Fund (XSIF) manages a portion of Xavier’s endowment
using an
enhanced bond indexing approach. The fund is indexed to the Lehman
Brothers
Government Credit Index. This index consists of three sectors:
Treasury,
Federal Agency, and corporate.
As approved by the Board at its inaugural
meeting on November 15, 2004, the XSIF
uses a tactical allocation strategy in which each cell can be
overweight or
underweight by 10% and the fund’s overall duration can vary up to
15%.
